scott had his surgery 4 hours after being born. they were able to fit everything back in. you can barely tell that he's had the surgery! they said they're really surprised on how well he's healing up. they took him off his breathing tube early and he's been breathing on his own ever since. they had a tube pulling out the green stuff from his stomach and it was going up his nose. he got tired of it and pulled it out himself and was just holding it up for the nurses to take. lol. he was like "i'm done w/ this!" but they had to put it in his mouth. they're waiting for the green stuff to stop coming out so that he can start feeding. hopefuly that will be soon. they took him off his antibiotics and are still giving him pain medication. keeps him nice and happily stoned. lol.

hi everyone,
Congratulations for a happy mum of Scott. My baby girl is doing much better nowadays. Still in the hospital though. Sepsis is totally gone. Antibiotics were put aside yesterday. She was moved from an incubator to a cradle. She is fed with my breastmilk ( not much is left Sad though) and the formula 10 ml every 3 h. She is digesting it well. She looks so healthy and lovely. Her scar is also healing well however do to sepsis it got stretched and it will have to be corrected sometimes later for cosmetic reasons.

hey martha (or really anyone). how long did it take to be able to start feeding marcelina? they took scotts tube that sucks out his green gastro fluids cause he wasnt producing that much anymore. then they tried feeding him pedialite and he threw it up. so they had to put the tube back in.

Congratulaions on the birth of Scott. My little one Niamh (now 3) was really slow to feed. From what I remember she didn't poo for nearly 3 weeks and also was vomiting with feeds for a good 4 weeks. She had barium investigations to see if she had an obstruction. Even when we were discharged she would still vomit feeds back up. She was loosing weight and therefore put on special feeds. I think i struggled with Niamh for the first year of her life

On a positive note she remains small (still in 12-18mth clothes) but is happy and really active and eats what she wants now including adult sized ice creams! All gastro kids I think are sent to try us and certanly have a will of their own Twisted Evil

Keep us posted about his progress as I can remember how stressful the initial hospital stay was.
