| Hi everyone, I have realised that there have been a severe increase in children born with Gastroschisis over the years. When I was born in 1987, doctors had to look it up, now it seems, there are a lot more, any clue as to what may cause this? This is not genetic which is the first good thing but has environment changes got anything to do with it? |

yeah they say there's no real answer on why this happends its just a random occurence.
although. i drank (not often) and smoked (tobacco and weed) before i know i was pregnant and when i found out that i was preggy i quit everything immediatly and then a couple months into my pregnancy we found out that he has gastro. but i dont know i am 21 so being young may also have sumthin to do with it i dont know. |

| I am 32. I do not drink nor smoke. I live very healthy life. Nevertheless my baby girl will be born with gastro. The occurance has definately increased within last 10 years and it has more to do with stress, enviromental pollution and diet, rather then with age and other aspects mentioned before. |

| I was 27, no drinking, no smoking, no partying, good diet. Possibly not enough sleep or too active. |
